Baskets losing in the last minute

Bonn --
Exactly one year after the last home defeat against the Artland Dragons Quakenbrück Telekom Baskets Bonn lost again on Sunday against Lower Saxony. This time the score was 76:75 with a razor-thin ahead - to a true crime novel.
It was a tight, high-class basketball game that was not decided until the very last second.
2.4 seconds before the end. Telekom Baskets lead after a triple by Bryce Taylor with 75:74 when the referee whistled a foul by playmaker Jared Jordan on Quakenbrück Center Darren Fenn. Fenn was awarded two free throws, which he turned ice cold against a shrill chorus of whistles.
The guests from the north led by 76:75. Bonn Coach Koch took a break before preparing his boys with the last move. 5030 spectators held their breath. John Bowler got the ball, but he hit the ring, not the basket. The defeat was sealed.
"I played the ball, that was no foul," said Jared Jordan immediately after the final siren, when the Quakenbrück to lay in her arms and jubilantly as a year ago were celebrating a victory in the Telekom Dome.
Previously, both teams showed a great performance, especially in the second half the lead changed constantly to and fro. "Quakenbrück at the end was just smarter than us," admitted Jordan.
Baskets and head coach Mike Koch or found other reasons for the defeat of his wafer-thin guys. "Our defense has allowed over the last two minutes too many easy points. We have lost because of our inexperience."
Nevertheless, he attested his players a good use: "The team has fought and gave everything. Now we have to get up and come back the next match on Friday at home against Hagen."
